Shure BLX1288/CVL Combination Wireless System

The Shure BLX1288/CVL is a combination wireless system running a lavalier microphone (CVL) and a handheld microphone (PG58) simultaneously on a dual-channel BLX88 receiver. It is built to cover two different roles needing two different microphone types in a single package.

The typical scenario is an event with both a moderator or presenter who needs their hands free (lavalier) and someone taking the stage to speak or sing (handheld) — a corporate event with both a host and a guest speaker, for instance. Because the two channels run independently, each microphone is managed at its own level. Up to 14 hours of battery life covers full-day events.

Where the same microphone type is needed on both channels, the BLX188 range (two lavaliers or two handhelds) makes more sense; this combination system is designed for events where two different microphone needs have to be met at once.
