Shure BLX14R/MX53 Wireless Earset Microphone Set

The BLX14R/MX53 puts the microphone on the ear. The difference from a lavalier is that the distance between microphone and mouth stays fixed — the level does not change when the speaker turns their head.

That is decisive for trainers who move while presenting, for sports and fitness instructors, and for speakers who work the stage. The level fluctuation that is unavoidable with a lavalier simply does not occur here.

Fixed mic distance, no level fluctuation

The MX153 sits on the ear with the microphone boom fixed beside the mouth. The problem of level shifting as the presenter moves or turns disappears, and the sound engineer is not constantly riding the fader.

The right choice for presenters on the move

Earset microphones are the standard choice for trainers, gym and fitness instructors, roaming presenters and theatre use. Unlike a lavalier, they also largely avoid the rustle caused by clothing friction.

BLX platform and rack installation

The receiver mounts into a 19-inch rack cabinet; rack mounting and link brackets are supplied. Up to 100 metres of range, up to 14 hours on two AA batteries and QuickScan automatic frequency scanning are the same on this model.
