Shure BLX14R/W85 Wireless Lavalier Microphone Set

The BLX14R/W85 is the step up among lavalier BLX systems. The difference is the microphone in the box: the WL185 is a cardioid condenser lavalier also used across Shure's professional wireless systems.

Compared with the CVL model it has a lower-profile body and a more focused 130-degree pickup angle. It is preferred for broadcast, corporate events and installations where the microphone should not be visible.

WL185: low profile, 130° pickup angle

The cardioid pattern's 130-degree pickup angle captures the presenter while noticeably excluding sound arriving from the sides. Its low-profile body does not draw the eye on clothing — a real reason to choose it for on-camera work and corporate presentations.

Designed for speech and presentation

The WL185 is designed specifically for speech, presentation and performance. Its condenser design preserves the detail and tone of the voice, while the cardioid pattern increases usable gain before feedback in acoustically difficult rooms.

Rack installation on the BLX platform

The receiver mounts into a 19-inch rack cabinet. The BLX platform's 100-metre range, 14-hour runtime on two AA batteries and QuickScan automatic frequency scanning all apply to this model.
