Shure BLX4 Wireless Receiver

The BLX4 is the desktop single-channel analog wireless receiver in the Shure BLX series, and as an individually sold component it is chosen for expanding an existing system or covering the need for a spare receiver.

Its strengths are the features that make installation easier: group and channel scanning quickly finds an available frequency in the area, internal antenna diversity helps reduce signal dropouts, and QuickScan frequency selection shortens setup time. The two-colour audio status LED gives the installer immediate feedback, allowing a fast check before a performance or meeting.

The BLX4 does not work without being paired with a microphone transmitter; it has to be used with a BLX1 bodypack or a BLX2 handheld transmitter. For anyone building a system from scratch, ready-made packages such as the BLX14 or BLX24 are a better starting point; buying the BLX4 separately speaks more to people expanding an existing installation.
